Cucharas River Bed & Breakfast is located in the small Village of Cuchara situated on the eastern slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in south-central Colorado at the altitude of 8,468 feet on Highway of Legends (Hwy 12) running from La Veta in the north to Trinidad in the south.

"We are 2 families (4 adults, 6 teenagers ages 13-18) exploring this area of CO for the first time. Cuchara is a sweet little gem nestled in the forest. Gaylene is the kind hostess who operates
the B&B and organizes the yummy breakfast. The house is clean and very comfortable. We had rooms 4 and 5 upstairs; kids slept in the loft area very comfortably (the teenage boys are over 6'
and had plenty of room). We enjoyed sitting on the patio and listening to the creek after a late dinner at Dog Bar & Grill. The only sad thing was this was a quick overnight stay on our roadtrip.
All of us agreed that we could have very happily spent the week here."
